Muling nabuhay ang kasong rape laban sa TV host-comedian na si Vhong Navarro na isinampa ng model na si Deniece Cornejo.
Ito ay matapos ipag-utos ng Court of Appeals (CA) sa City Prosecutor of Taguig City ang pagsasampa ng kasong rape by sexual intercourse and acts of lasciviousness laban sa komedyante.
Ayon sa report, nabaligtad ang una nang desisyon ng Department of Justice na ibasura ang reklamong isinampa kay Vhong.
“Cornejo decries attempted rape on the night of January 22, 2014 while Navarro denies any wrongdoing. We reiterate once more that the preliminary investigation is not the proper venue on the respondent’s guilt or innocence,” ayon sa CA.
“Cornejo’s claim that she initially managed to escape Navarro’s unwanted advances, but he caught up with her to further his perverse objective satisfies the element of force and intimidation.”
Naging laman ng balita ang pagsasampa ng kaso kay Vhong noong 2014.
Ayon sa komedyante, binugbog umano siya at tinangkang kikilan ng grupo ni Deniece.
Itinanggi naman ito ng kabilang kampo at sinabing nabugbog lamang si Vhong nang mahuli ito pagkatapos pagtangkaan ang modelo.
